Jimmer Fredette

One of my favorite parts of this past winter semester was watching BYU basketball. I looked forward to every game and tuned in to as many as I could through the internet, KSL radio, or the TV.

I will always remember the night that BYU first beat San Diego. It was a Thursday night after church basketball games. Parker and I were watching online and Brooke and Mom and even Katelyn joined us. Jimmer hit shot after shot. I was pumped. We won and Jimmer had 43 points.

I followed those boys til the bitter end. Park and I bought our $10 Jimmer t-shirts and I felt like a true fan. When Brandon Davies got kicked off the team, my heart was so sad! haha. I was really angry at him at first, but then realized I felt more bad for him than anything. Despite this set back, I still had faith in my boys.

Then, we lost that first game after Davies was out. I was heartbroken. I even cried. Was everything we worked so hard for over?

I think it was the following Friday or Saturday that we played again. Rocked it. YES!!

The guys played through the Mountain West conference and then started the NCAA Tournament. They played pretty darn well. My favorite was their game against Gonzaga in Denver.
I love the roar from the crowd every time a shot is made! That is how it was at our house. We all sat in the basement, I think Mom had even bought treats for us, and we just screamed and shouted. I felt so proud! Best. Game. Ever.

BYU didn't make it past the Sweet Sixteen and their last game was a blow to me. The shots were nasty and towards the end, every move by BYU seemed so desperate. Parker told me to turn it off, but I had to finish it. All my hopes of BYU taking the title were over. I cried again! haha. Emotional!

Anyways, this whole season culminated in the draft this past Thursday. Jimmer Fredette will now play for the Sacramento Kings. To be totally honest, I have no idea who plays on that team or how good they even are. All I know is that I will now be following them VERY VERY closely! Its Jimmer Time.
