A while ago I compiled these quotes when I needed a push to continue running. I pulled them out last night to re-inspire!
Read these & then go lace up your shoes and hit the road! You'll be happy if you do. :)
"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."
-PattiSue Plumer, U.S. Olympian
"Running is a big question mark that's there each and every day. It asks you, 'Are you going to be a wimp or are you going to be strong today?'" - Peter Maher, Canadian marathon runner
"What distinguishes those of us at the starting line from those of us on the couch is that we learn through running to take what the days gives us, what our body will allow us, and what our will can tolerate." -John Bingham, running writer and speaker
"There's no such thing as bad weather, just soft people." - Bill Bowerman
And finally,
"If you run, you are a runner. It doesn't matter how fast or how far. It doesn't matter if today is your first day or if you've been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run." --John Bingham
I love these! I'm going to post them on my walls and by my door so when I get up to run I'll be motivated!
ReplyDeleteI am totally pumped now!! I've been slacking a bit on my running lately, using the excuse of physical pain. I am so motivated! I can't wait to go running tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you liked them!
